Small Business Mentoring
No experience running a business? Looking for a source for advice and mentoring? Look no further than SCORE.
Founded in 1964, SCORE is a partner of the Small Business Administration and has offices throughout the United States. They are a national organization dedicated to supporting small business owners. You will find a wealth of resources at any of their local offices and at the SCORE website. And the advice is free!
Need help with startup capital? How about writing a business plan? Do you have experience in accounting? Heck, is your idea even worth pursuing? SCORE is non-profit organization where experienced volunteers donate their time to mentor business entrepreneurs.
Want to talk to someone in person? Make an appointment at your local office and take a list of questions with you. Not close enough to a brick and mortar SCORE office? Poke around the site and see what’s there. Download podcasts. Try out their accounting templates. Read How-To articles on topics of interest to you. Search their site for a suitable mentor. Network with like-minded people at the SCORE Online Community.
This applies only to the United States. Is there an equivalent in other parts of the world? Leave a comment and let us know.
