Using PLR for traffic
PLR stands for “Private Label Rights.” Private label rights products are products that you can claim as your own. For example, PLR articles are articles written by someone who is willing to give up the right to claim authorship. It’s like getting your own ghostwritten articles. You slap your own name on those babies and use them as you will.
How do you use PLR articles to drive traffic to your web site?
Well the simplest and most obvious way to use PLR articles is to post them “as is” on your web site, in article directories, and on your blogs. You make sure that you have links to your web site in your author resource box and on your blogs. And of course, the articles should be related to your web site, product, or service.
But you run a risk by using PLR articles “as is.” Private label rights means limited distribution. Not everybody and his brother has access to the articles, yet you are not the only one who has those special ghostwritten articles either. If you do not take the time to alter the articles, then you may be posting what search engines call “duplicate content,” and search engines don’t like duplicate content. Article directories will not allow duplicate content from multiple authors. So what do you do?
Use PLR articles as starting points. Rearrange a few words. Rewrite some sentences. Stick in some keywords. The more you change, the better off you will be. The best thing to do, though, is to take the information in the article and rewrite it as if you were telling your best friend about the topic. Make it sound like you, then you truly own the article. You can’t go wrong with that.
